I have so much to say about this subject that I have nothing to say. Why anyone would think it's a good idea to have this man elected president of our country is beyond me.

NOTE: I'd like to comment on the FDNY Firefighters and 9/11 Family Members who are challenging Rudy's record. Their efforts are being called "partisan" because their union is endorsing Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT). However, this same union endorsed Bush in 2004. Their endorsement of Senator Dodd is the result of Dodd's support for firefighters long before it was popular. Also, Jim Riches, one of the leaders of this group, voted for Giuliani three times. This is not about partisanship, it's simply about Rudy's leadership...or lack there of.

The Pierce Arrow's Coverage of the North East Premiere of Loose Change Final Cut
So here is an article written by The Fitzwater Center's new Grad-assistant, Josh Bond. The article is about the North East Premiere of Loose Change Final Cut at the Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH. The event was sponsored by Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth and the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance. We were able to raise $1,000 dollars to donate to the 9/11 First Responders, many of which are very sick and are not being taken care of. Bond is a maverick, and I appreciate his support for what myself and the other members of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth have been trying to do...
I do find it funny, however, that the Pierce Arrow titled the article "Documentary Premiers in Keene," instead of "9/11 Documentary Premiers in Keene," or "Loose Change Final Cut Premiers in Keene." Just a thought...
Documentary premiers in Keene
By: Joshua Bond
By: Joshua Bond
12/3/07: Franklin Pierce students Eric Jackman and Justin Martell took turns last Tuesday, November 27 calling out to Keene's Main Street through a bullhorn.
"Whether or not you believe the government was involved in September 11, there are thousands of people the government has turned their backs on. We will never turn our backs on our people," bellowed Jackman, growing increasingly ardent.
"This is real, folks. It's time to do something about it!"
Martell and Jackman, cofounders of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth, were there to sponsor the premier of Loose Change: Final Cut, the third installment of a documentary series designed to expose the government's involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
Their efforts drew over 280 people to the Colonial Theater. Supporters and skeptics alike gathered for the show, and many stayed for the post-screening question and answer session with the filmmakers. Director Dylan Avery and producers Korey Rowe and Jason Bermas spent an hour addressing, in Rowe's words, the audience's "comments, complaints, bitches, likes, dislikes, what have you."
The skeptics had the first word.
"Let's assume this is all true. Let's assume the government coordinated the attack, killed 3000 of its own citizens, and then covered it all up. Why would they let three college students make a documentary about the biggest cover-up in history?"
The subtext wasn't lost on anyone. If they could orchestrate such a massive operation, couldn't they arrange for this movie or its makers to quietly disappear?
"It's in their best interests if we are alive," responded producer and Army veteran Rowe. "If we were killed it would give more validity to our cause. At least I hope so."
He shared a nervous laugh with the audience before lightly correcting the skeptical audience member.
"And we never went to college."
Though many of the questioners used the microphone to make elaborate claims as to their personal knowledge of top secret files or certainty that nuclear holocaust was upon us, there were those who voiced more palatable assertions. The filmmakers addressed the tendency of the media and public in general to group their documentary in with more deranged conspiracy theorists.
"You got people who say that no planes hit the towers. You got people who say lasers from planet Kropnar destroyed the towers. And then there's us," said Bermas.
And though it is based in decidedly more tangible claims, and though Final Cut is geared, according to Avery, "for people who absolutely cannot wrap their heads around the idea that the government was involved," it remains minimally appealing to people. After all, 280 people in a small theater in a small town is hardly a premier befitting such a legendary exposé.
But that's kind of the point. Most people don't give credence to the government involvement theory because it's easier not to. To open your mind to the possibility is to tear down all notions of security, justice, government, reason, truth, honesty and trust upon which we build so much of our lives. To believe the propositions put forth in Loose Change is to be utterly terrified. But unlike the government against which they rail, the producers of Loose Change do not wish to frighten. They aim to empower.
According to their website, "The central premise of Loose Change is that the government was, at the very least, criminally negligent in allowing the attacks of 9/11 2001 to occur." This is a claim which a substantially larger group of people can get behind.
In terms of appealing to substantially larger groups of people, the producers of Loose Change, in their view, must remain content to catch small groups in small theaters and to capitalize on the accessibility of the Internet. After brief consideration, they turned down Charlie Sheen's offer to narrate the film, and denied a deal with a major production studio.
"We want to preserve the integrity of our film," said Avery. "We encourage all of you to burn copies and put it on the web."

Huckabee/Thompson Article
Here is an article I wrote with Eric Jackman way back in early October. For the record, I do not support either Thompson or Huckabee as candidates for President. I think Thompson looks like an over grown slug and Huckabee (who I've met twice) is only gaining momentum because he has gotten the support of the religious right. I think that Sinclair Lewis summed it up perfectly when he said, "When fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in a flag, carrying the cross." Even though I don't care for either Thompson or Huckabee, when writing for my school's student newspaper I try not to be bias, because I think one thing we see too much of these days is the media deciding who the president is going to be. Therefore, I try to discuss the issues of the 2008 primary as dispassiontely as possible when writing articles like this:
10/5/07: Earlier this month, former governor of Arkansas and semi-heavyweight GOP '08 Candidate Mike Huckabee issued a letter to Senator Fred Thompson, who is also seeking the GOP nomination for president, in which he expressed his interest in having a one on one debate about the issues surrounding the upcoming election.

Huckabee was motivated by Thompson's remarks that the primary, thus fa
r, has not stimulated the type of conversation with the American public that he feels is necessary. "I kind of think that Newt's (Gingrich) idea of going back to a Lincoln-Douglas debate type format where you have two people sit down or stand up ... and discuss one particular topic in depth, and go back and forth about it," Thompson said, referring to Newt Gingrich's recent suggestion that large debates have been counter productive and that in order for the public to become familiar with each candidate's stance on the issues we need to see smaller Lincoln-Douglas style debates between candidates.

In his open letter to Senator Thompson, Huckabee stated that he shared Thompson's "view of the debates and agree that Newt's…concept is a far better way to make sure America's next President has the character and capacity to lead our nation forward."
Unfortunately, Thompson isn't ready to return to the 1858 just yet. In response to Huckabee's challenge, the Thompson campaign issued the following statement:
"We have the greatest respect for Gov. Huckabee, and respect his desire to elevate the discourse in this campaign. But there are nine people running for the GOP nomination and an arbitrary pairing of just two of them does a disservice to the voters. We will push hard for Lincoln-Douglas style debates once we get into the General Election, when there are only two candidates running."
This statement from the Thompson campaign suggesting that Thompson is only interested in one-on-one debates during the general election does seem a bit baffling. Earlier this year, Thompson gave an interview to Sean Hannity of FOX news in which he said, "To tell you the truth, uh, I haven't spent a whole lot of time, uh, going into the details of their positions. I will be doing... I... I mean publicly. I obviously know where they stand and what they've done and what they've written. And there will be a time when we will need to have a good, uh, debate, if they're interested in debates, and we'll do it one-on-one and we'll do it in a big group, and I really want to do it, and we'll get into that."
With nine Republicans seeking the nomination, it is very hard for less popular candidates to accurately convey their plans to America during the televised debates, in which time is very limited. Prominent political bloggers have suggested that Senator Thompson did not think other candidates would take his suggestion seriously, while others have stated that Thompson is afraid of being "eaten alive" by Governor Huckabee. Whatever the case may be, the PMG Primary Insiders hope that if Thompson won't step up to Huckabee's challenge, another candidate will, and will elevate this primary to a new level.

Primary Article
Here is an article I wrote for the Pierce Arrow on December 3rd, 2007:
cleared and the New Hampshire Primary remains first in the nation. On November 21, Secretary of State William Gardner announced that the primary will be held on January 8, 2008. This date is the earliest date for a primary ballot in United States history.
Within only a few hours of Michigan announcing it's January 15 primary, Gardner made his long awaited announcement. Michigan is one of several states that have tried to bring their primaries forward in order to have more of an impact of the 2008 elections.
The battle to push Michigan into a more significant role was spearheaded by Senator Carl Levin (D-Michigan). Back in October, Levin referred to New Hampshire's first in the nation role as "cockamamie" and then told reporters, "No state should have that dominant a role. New Hampshire has a hammerlock, folks." Gardner quickly fired back and said that he was willing to hold the New Hampshire Primary as early as December in order to keep it first in the nation.
"I think that it [Secretary Gardner's actions] has clearly demonstrated that when you stand on principle and defend your state law it is very difficult for people to counter that by trying to act in their own self interest," Victory NH Co-Founder Harry Levine told the Pierce Arrow. "Senator Levin, who's bee
n leading this charge for years, has never given a clear cut reason as to why this [challenging New Hampshire first in the nation status] is good for the country."
Victory NH is a non-partisan organization, dedicated to keeping New Hampshire first in the nation. Victory NH volunteers, usually referred to as "Primary Defenders," are often seen at many political events across the state. When asked whether or not Levine was going to have his "Primary Defenders" take a break now that New Hampshire still remains number one, Levine told the Arrow that he will do no such thing, "We will see an increasing level of challenge…this is going to continue and accelerate."
Both Republican and Democratic candidates have expressed their
support for Gardner's decision. Democrat John Edwards told reporters, "I am pleased that New Hampshire will retain its rightful place as the first-in-the-nation primary-I applaud Bill Gardner's work to protect New Hampshire's significance in our nominating process. The New Hampshire primary is critical because voters in New Hampshire take their responsibility seriously: they listen to the candidates, look them in the eye, ask them tough questions and size them up. In New Hampshire, ideas truly matter more than money and that is precisely why this is anyone's race." Republican presidential heavy-weight Mitt Romney also expressed his support, "It is good news that New Hampshire's traditional role in the process has been maintained.
"With the date of the Primary set to a time when many of the state's college voters, who claim residency here because they spend the majority of the year in New Hampshire at school, will be on winter break, the campaigns must now focus their attention completely on New Hampshire residents. Residents of New Hampshire have not been the most decisive voters. It is said many don't make a decision on who they will vote for until right before the primary, while many others don't show an allegiance to party lines.
When asked for his final thoughts, Levine explained, "It's nice to see that the natural order of things has been restored and that New Hampshire is once again secured in its role that it's earned over the last half century. When the dust clears the American people will once again see that New Hampshire being first in the nation is good for the country as a whole."

Ron Paul Article
I'll be archiving the articles that I've written for my university's newspaper, the Pierce Arrow. Here is an article I wrote about Ron Paul a few issues back.
Note: This should also make it clear that I support Paul's candidacy 100%, I just feel that he is the wrong person to be supported by the 9/11 Truth Movement...
Primary Insider: Ron Paul
By: Justin Martell
Posted: 11/14/07
Last February after attending Ron Paul's very first New Hampshire fundraiser at a house in Bedford, it looked like Paul was destined to be one of those "well, I like his ideas but he doesn't have a chance" type candidates (interestingly enough, on that one trip Paul raised more money than Giuliani did during his first three visits to New Hampshire). After following Paul's campaign very closely since that night, it is now very obvious that my initial impression was dead
wrong.
To those who are not familiar, Ron Paul is a Republican ten term Congressman from Texas. In 1988 he ran as the libertarian candidate for president and is now the only "anti-war" Republican; a position he asserts is actually very conservative.
When Paul declared his candidacy early this year he was at no higher than one to two percent in New Hampshire polls. Political comedian Stephen Colbert even went so far as to flash a photograph of a monkey named "Binko" on screen during his show and announce that Binko had surpassed Ron Paul in the polls.
Sorry Mr. Colbert, but according to a poll released on October 25 by Saint Anselm's College's Institute of Politics, Ron Paul has now risen to 7.4 Percent in the New Hampshire Republican Primary. This new poll places Paul ahead of the man that many thought would shake up the primary but so far has failed to create much fanfare, Senator Fred Thompson (R-TN).
Paul announced on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, in late October, that he is now number three in fundraising among the GOP candidates, raising more money than Senator John McCain last quarter. Paul's number three fundraising position was further solidified shortly there after, when the Congressman's campaign raised $4.2 million dollars during a one day fundraiser on November fifth. Since the fifth, Paul has raised an additional three million dollars which brings him roughly four and a half million short of his campaign's goal of raising 12 million this quarter.
In a message to his supporters released on November seventh, the Congressman, seemingly very pleased, wrote:

"Amazing! I have to admit being floored by the $4.2 million dollars you raised yesterday for this campaign. And unlike the fatcat operations of the opposition, the average contribution from our 36,672 donors was $103.
"I say "you raised," because this historic event was created, organized, and run by volunteers. This is the spirit that has protected American freedom in our past; this is the spirit that is doing so again…What momentum we have! Please help me keep it up. As you and I know, and our opponents are only suspecting, we have Success on our minds, and in our hearts."
Young people, old people, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and Americans from all walks of life are very attracted to Ron Paul's message that it is possible to be conservative without being pro-war. It may be a big surprise to the other candidates who balked at Paul's candidacy when, by the time the New Hampshire Primary comes around, Ron Paul is the man to beat.

RON PAUL IS NOT THE 9/11 TRUTH CANDIDATE!!!
I'll probably take a little bit of heat for this post but it has to be said...
Ron Paul makes his stance on 9/11 clear...again:
Glenn Beck is right, a lot of people believe that Ron Paul secretly thinks that 9/11 was an inside job but won't say it because he doesn't want to ruin his chances of getting elected, etc. This is simply not true. Look folks, Ron Paul is great, I really like the things that he has to say, and he is one of the three truth tellers in this race (the other two are Gravel and Kucinich). However, if you want to support a 9/11 truth candidate, Ron Paul is not your man.
My main issue is bringing about a new 9/11 investigation and I am not willing to put all my eggs in the basket of a guy who has not promised one. Both Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel have promised that their administrations would re-open the 9/11 investigation. This is why I don't understand for the life of me why 90% of the people in the 9/11 truth movement are supporting Ron Paul for president. Yes, he is great, but NOT THE 9/11 TRUTH CANDIDATE! It feels like many people who support Ron Paul make him what they want him to be even if he doesn't agree with their agenda at all. I, personally, am endorsing Mike Gravel for president and I encourage members of the 9/11 truth movement to please think seriously before casting your vote in the primary elections for Ron Paul.
